Balancing the flow of energy around the body has been the central aim of exercise disciplines throughout the Far East for centuries. In the chinese traditions, energy flows along specific paths called meridians. There are 12 pairs of meridians, each relating to a particular organ such as the stomach, the spleen, the kidneys and the liver. The body also had two resevoirs of energy known as vessels, which run up through the centre of the torso and head.
Energy is known as Qi or Chi in China. It is created by the tension between two opposing forces. YIN and YANG. The male YANG energy as the sun and the YIN energy female as the earth.
To enjoy good health we need to constantly replenish our Qi and encourage a strong balanced flow around the body, by practicing Chi Kung, Yoga and eating natural foods, drinking fresh water and benefitting from the right amount of sleep.
The ancient practice of QIGONG /Chi Kung has a history stretching back more than 5,000 years ago. Today it is practiced by millions of chinese to promote energy flow for health and spiritual well being. The word Qigong means repeated practice.
